Consider this quote. After all you've been through this past year and ask, "God what are you doing?" Not just in the political landscape, not just in the pandemic, those are important. But what is God doing in you personally, and through you professionally? Have you asked?
I did and it was powerful. Let me tell you what happened.
I knew for God to answer this question we had to deal with all the stuff I was doing. Last year I was doing too much, again. I'm a recovering overachiever after all.
I took a break in January; I needed a detox from all the “doing” and to seek God’s plans for this year. To get away and hear from God, to hear his voice clearly.
"What do you have for me this year, God?"
"What does that mean? Wait"
I hate waiting...wait feels like a curse. Anyone else?
Then I felt such a peace wash over me and He then spoke of IMPACT. (Impact is one of my words for 2021.) This filled me with anticipation, and that's why this statement from Beni Johnson resonated so deeply.
Now, being real here, my natural flesh got excited about the possibilities of impact and I wonder, HOW? So I began drifting off into dreaming, designing, and creating. He gently pulled me off my rabbit trail and invited me to do less, simplify, and embrace doing things differently -- His Way.
Most of all, He was asking me to let go of the outcome and let God bring the impact. To me, 'just wait' comes in realizing that what he is doing is the result of HIS ACTION and not mine. And I get to see the impact of HIS work this year.
What anticipation is building up in you for what God is going to do, in you and through you? What is he showing for this year? And how are you following His lead, trusting Him with the outcome?
Here's to what God is going to doing in you and in me this year.
