God, I want your presence.

“If your Presence does not go with me, do not send me. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me ... unless you go with me? What else will distinguish me from all the other people on the face of the earth?”” Exodus 33:15-16 NIV (paraphrase)
Each morning I sit in stillness. Thinking of everything I am doing and I want NONE of it unless God is in it.
I close my eyes, visualize putting it all on the altar, and I ask God to take it. I picture him putting his arms around my pile o’stuff and pulling it towards his chest. He smiles.
Then I ask Him, “what will You have me do?” I watch him sifting through it, moving some here and some there. Then, he slides something back over towards me — my assignment. It is only a small piece of what I gave him. But it is ALL he is calling me to DO NOW, today, in this season.
It’s rebellious to how the world plans their day, but it’s stewardship. And for me, it works. Because for what He has given me to do, for now, for today, I know one thing HIS PRESENCE WILL BE WITH ME and that is all that matters.
Let me encourage you to ask God what he has for you this season, what does your NOW look like? What’s on your plate for today?
